L'idea

"Sogno: Addio Re Roberto" è una canzone contenuta nel disco "Collezione di Arretrati" di AdriaCo.

Si tratta davvero del racconto di un rocambolesco sogno in cui un giovane AdriaCo rincorre treni e aspettative di vita, le proprie e quelle degli altri. Un sogno di cui la canzone stessa era colonna sonora.

Il sound vintage sviluppato successivamente insieme a Valerio e Alessandro Passi, ha subito ricordato il mondo dei videogiochi delle loro infanzie. È nata così l'idea di realizzare un videoclip che fosse anche un videogame.

Nel gioco AdriaCo corre senza sosta verso il suo obiettivo, scontrandosi con nemici, salendo su un treno impazzito che lo rende apparentemente invincibile, mentre ricostruisce il proprio passato attraverso l'incontro col personaggio del "padre di Roberto". Un viaggio che lo porta a capire di non aver bisogno di treni e di binari per lottare contro le proprie paure e insicurezze.

Per i sound effects del gioco sono stati utilizzati materiali estratti dalla canzone stessa.

Sono state inoltre utilizzate e adattate in pixel art le creature di Matteo Lucibello, dalle grafiche del disco. Ogni creatura rappresenta un tema nel mondo del cantautore.

The idea

"Sogno: Addio Re Roberto" ("Dream: Farewell King Robert") is a track from the album "Collezione di Arretrati" by AdriaCo.

It is a literal account of a daring dream in which a young AdriaCo chases trains and life expectations, both his own and those of others. The song itself was the soundtrack of the dream.

The vintage sound, later developed with Valerio and Alessandro Passi, immediately evoked the video games of their childhood. This sparked the idea of creating a music video that could also be a playable game.

In the game, AdriaCo runs relentlessly toward his goal, battling enemies and boarding a runaway train that makes him seemingly invincible, while reconstructing his past through an encounter with the "Robert’s father" character. A journey that leads him to realize he doesn’t need trains or tracks to fight his fears and insecurities.

The game's sound effects were crafted using materials from the song itself.

Additionally, Matteo Lucibello’s creatures from the album artwork were adapted into pixel art. Each creature represents a specific theme within the songwriter's world.
